Understanding Merchant Account Statuses
Managing merchant accounts involves understanding their various statuses. These statuses provide crucial insights into the current state of a merchant's account, whether they are in the onboarding process or are an active merchant. This guide categorizes these statuses into two main phases: Merchant Onboarding and Active Merchant.
Merchant Onboarding Statuses:
- Created: The merchant's application has been created in Tilled.
- Started: The merchant has begun the application process.
- In Review: The merchant's application is currently under review.
- Action Required: Additional information is needed to continue with the onboarding process.
- Rejected: The application has been rejected by the Underwriting team.
- Withdrawn: The merchant has withdrawn their application.
Active Merchant Statuses:
- Active: The merchant's account is fully operational with all capabilities active.
- Partially Active: Certain account capabilities are active while others are under review (e.g., Card is Active, Direct Debit is In Review).
- Account Review:* An account review has been conducted, and additional information is requested to prevent future processing disruptions.
- Funding Hold:* There are restrictions on funding for one or more capabilities. Detailed information can be viewed by clicking on the status indicator.
- Disabled: The merchant account has been disabled due to suspension or termination.
Color Indicators
- Statuses in red indicate that information is requested from the merchant.
- The same statuses in purple signify that additional information has been submitted and is currently under review by Tilled Risk and Underwriting.
Understanding these statuses is vital for effective merchant account management. They provide valuable information regarding the progress of an application, operational capabilities, and any required actions.
