Understanding your Valor device: Top tips
1. Ensure your device is on and connected at 7:30 PM EST for Auto-Batch
Your Valor terminal reader is set to automatically close its daily batch at 7:30 PM EST. For this process to occur, the device must be turned on and connected to the internet at that time. Failing to meet this condition will prevent the batch from closing automatically, potentially missing the cutoff for Next Day Funding and causing delays in receiving funds.
Recommendations:
- Keep your device on and plugged in overnight to ensure it remains online during the auto-batch time of 7:30 PM EST.
- Manually batch if your device cannot be left on during the auto-batch time: If you cannot leave your device on, manually batch your terminal reader at the end of each day. Follow the instructions in this article to learn how to manually batch your terminal reader.
2. Use Valor Connect mode when processing payments
Always process payments with your device in Valor Connect mode to facilitate easy reconciliation. Payments processed outside this mode will still be settled and paid to the merchant, but they won't appear in your Payments report, complicating the reconciliation process.
